Learn Coding With Megabyte

Here at Megabyte we have developed a new website that allows students to code in Python and make Minecraft Mods all without downloading anything! This course aims to introduce kids to the basics of coding: variables, if statements, for loops and functions. Students will be guided through a series of coding exercises by an instructor before working on several Minecraft mods to practice their new found skills!

The course takes one week (3 sessions) however retaking the course is suggested as the projects will change allowing you to practice your skills!

NOTE!

This is the first time we are running this course so will currently only be accepting 5 students to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Please send any questions to info@megabyteclub.co.uk.

A Typical Day

Kids will log on at 9am where will meet the tutors, learn how to use Zoom, and discuss what we will be working on for the day.

We then work our way through 3 or 4 projects based around the day’s theme. These might be making art, designing buildings, creating scenes from books or movies, all in Minecraft! We take regular breaks, so there’s time for the kids to have snacks and take a break from their screens.

In the final hour those who want can join our Minecraft Realms Server (we provide log in details if you don’t have them already!) where everyone works together to make a final project until we wrap up at 1pm.

What Do You Need?

  • Tablet or computer with Minecraft installed

  • Zoom installed (preferably on another device) and a good internet connection.

  • Chargers at the ready!

  • Minecraft Log In Details.
